Grand Master's Open House Creates Momentum

Early reports on the Grand Master's Open House Program have been very favorable. With over 70 Symbolic Lodges participating throughout the whole state, we were able to create the largest single day awareness campaign in several years. Our primary goal of inviting the local communities in to learn about out great fraternity resulted in some surprising additional benefits.

We knew there would be the side benefit of publicity caused by our actions. It has been even more exciting to hear several reports of petitions being signed on this day. A majority of Lodges also have lists of prospects who have expressed interest.

We sent out an electronic survey to make reporting as simple and inexpensive as possible and have received about 22% response at this time. The early results are showing great results for this progam. Here is just a brief review of the results:

1. 90% of respondents met a brother they have never met before so we expanded and created new lodge to lodge relationships.

2. With just this small sample of respondents (19 lodges) we had over 250 visitors.

3. Approximately 27 petitions were received not including some Eastern Star and Rainbow Girl sign ups.

A full reporting and more information will be shared at Founders Day on January 16, 2010 when we have received more results and have time to gather all the information. Dan Barenie, Junior Grand Deacon will be presenting the results and should be commended for putting together a great program in very short order.

We have all learned a great deal during this process and look forward to repeating the program in future years. We will use the knowledge gained to advance this idea and help make. From our website inquiries to the results of this effort it is obvious that the mission and the principles of Indiana Freemasonry are desirable, especially in the turmoil of today's world.
